PandoraLore / HouseDecay

House Decay

Since there is always the question about Housing and how fast Houses decay, these are a few important things to know and to remember.

Houses per Account

You are allowed to have 10 Houses per Account. This includes Houses you are a Co-Owner of. If you have 10 Houses including Co-Ownership,
the system will tell you that you have already too many Houses!

Ageless House Deed

You buy an "Ageless House Deed" in the Gold Sink Store (go there via Moongate) for 200,000,000 Gold. It prevents your House from collapsing,
which means you don't have to refresh a House such a Deed was used with.
(Please do not use these Deeds and then never log in again, especially if it's a Luna House. Other Players also want a chance of having a Luna
House, so doing this might come across as disrespectful and exploiting these Deeds.)

Vendors

If there are Vendors on your House that are not your own, then theoretically your House won't decay until these Vendors will drop (if there is
no more Gold in that Vendor and so forth).
Be advised that there have been changes made:
While such a House can very well go into "Demolition Pending" (a state similar to IDOC, but it won't fall cause of these Vendors), a new timer will
trigger and the Demo Pending state will be removed, turning the House into the IDOC stage at some point - this counts especially for Luna Houses.
Also note that Staff may remove the Demo Pending state manually, so the House will go into IDOC stage and fall, especially in Luna!
What happens with your House if it only has your own Vendors, you will have to ask the Staff!

Refreshing your House and Inactivity

Refreshing

Via Logging in

There are several methods to refresh your House. The easiest is to just login the Character who is the Owner of the House. It will then refresh
automatically after a few seconds, no matter where the Character is located when logging in. This does not work for Co-Owners!

Double Clicking the House Sign

A House can also be refreshed by double clicking the House Sign; it will refresh instantly then. Owners, Co-Owners and Friends can do this.
Note that after a certain time of Inactivity (means the Owner not logging in) friends can't refresh the House anymore. This also happens if
for some reason the Staff sets a House as "Condemned": Then all friend lists and Co-Ownerships are deleted.

Using the Door

A House will also be refreshed once the Owner, Co-Owner or a Friend uses the door: Open it, enter the House. This obviously does only work if
your House has walls and an actual door. ;)

Inactivity

Obviously once you aren't logging in for a longer time and no one can refresh your House, it will go into Decay and collapse at some point
(see below). A rule of thumb: Login and refresh every 30 days, the LATEST!

Stages of Decay

General Info

Once a House has been refreshed it will immediately go into decay again. Of course the status at the House Sign will still say "Like New" for
some time, but right after the Refresh the timer runs again.
Each stage of decay runs for a certain time, and once this stage ends, the next stage will be entered and so forth. Refreshing will stop the decay
instantly. You can also refresh a House that is already in the IDOC stage!
There is no visible timer telling you when a House will go into the next Stage of Decay or collapse.

Stages

Each Stage of Decay will last for a period of time. Once the House goes into IDOC (last Stage) the last timer will be activated - if this runs out, the
House will collapse!

Like New

The House has been refreshed recently and it shows the status "Like New", while the decay timer is already running.
Duration: 15 days

Slightly Worn

First stage of Decay.
Duration: 16 days

Somewhat Worn

Second stage of Decay.
Duration: 10 days

Fairly Worn

Third stage of Decay.
Duration: 10 days

Greatly Worn

Fourth Stage of Decay.
Duration: 10 days

In Danger Of Collapsing (IDOC)

Fifth and final Stage of Decay. The House can fall at any moment, but it still can be refreshed.
Duration: 1 minute to 6 hours

IDOC and Collapse

Once the house is IDOC (In Danger of Collapsing) it can fall any second. The duration is between one minute up to six hours; it can still be
refreshed during that time.

Collapse

Once the House collapses ALL items in this House, including Decoration, Boxes, Chests and so forth, will be released and drop on the floor, no matter where
they have been locked down or secured before. Anyone who is there can then pick as much up as he can and pleases - there is no ownership anymore.
Note that there are a few specific objects that cannot be picked up, for example large fire places and so forth.

Placing a new House

Of course anyone who is fast enough can place a new House there, this includes Luna. However there is a timer of 60 minutes after a House collapsed, during which
a new House cannot be placed. Also there may be no obstacles like dropped items from the old House in the area you want to place the new House.

Demolition Pending

As described before some Houses may go into "Demolition Pending" instead of IDOC. This stage will end (and the house turn into IDOC, sometimes fall directly!) after
vendor contracts ran out. Note that there are special circumstances that will remove the Demolition Pending status instantly, sometimes manually by the Staff (see above)!

Condemned

Condemned Houses are Houses that are in a Stage of Decay and all Co-Owner- and Friendlists are cleared by the Staff. This can happen due to special circumstances, for
example a very long time of inactivity (we are talking about years), a permanent ingame ban or similar.
This means no one but the owner can refresh the House.

If you have any more questions, please ask the Staff on Discord. Housing has been subject to many changes.

The infos on House Decay are taken from a post by GMNollKoll on Discord; confirmed by him in a message.
