TrainingRoom / ChivalryGuide

Introduction

Chivalry is one of the Magical Skills that evolves around beneficial Spells such as removing Curses, healing Spells but
also the ability to deal more damage on targets.

Chivalry Book

In order to be able to cast Chivalry Spells you need a Chivalry Book. It includes all necessary Spells.
You can obtain such a book from any Keeper of Chivalry. There is one at the Luna Bank.

Karma

What is Karma?

Karma is the requirement to cast Chivalry Spells efectively. The higher your Karma the more effective your
spells will be. This means if your Karma is very low (or even negative) you will fail a lot when trying to use Chivalry!

The other way around is also true:
The lower your Karma, the better your Necromancy Spells will work. Casting these spells will lower your Karma.

How do I gain or lose Karma?

Gaining Karma

The Maximum Karma you can have is 15,000, the Minimum is -15,000. You can check your current Karma ingame by typing [mystats.

You collect Karma by killing evil (red) creatures, criminal (red) players (murderers). Depending on the strength of the creature
(regular monster or a Boss, possibly a Paragon monster) will give you more Karma per kill.

Losing Karma

You lose Karma by casting Necromancy Spells, killing Innocents (Blue Players), creating and applying Poison or using Thievery.

Locking Karma

You can lock your Karma at an Ankh, but this only works into the negative direction:
You would still lose Karma but not gain any Karma - this is for Necromancy users.

Tithing Points and Mana Cost

Tithing Points

Tithing Points are a requirement for Chivalry. Each time you cast a Chivalry Spell you use Tithing Points. You can check your
current Tithing Points ingame by typing [mystats.

You obtain Tithing Points by sacrificing Gold:
Go to an Ankh and click it. In the menu pick "Tithe Gold" and then choose the amount, click OK. The Gold must be in your backpack!
You get Tithing Points for Gold in a ratio of 1:1.

New Players can obtain gear in the Newbie Dungeon that has Lower Tithing Cost (LTC). Besides this gear there is no way to lower Tithing cost!

Lower Reagent Cost (LRC) does affect Chivalry (Tithing costs).

Mana Cost

Each Chivalry Spell also costs Mana. Lower Mana Cost (LMC) applies.

Chivalry Spells

Activation

You activate Chivalry Spells via ingame Hotkeys or UO Steam Hotkeys and Macros. Activating such a Spell will cancel every other Spell you had activated
via Hotkeys, including Weapon Abilities (Special Moves), Ninjitsu and Bushido.

List of Chivalry Spells

This list will describe all available Chivalry Spells:

Close Wounds

Restores HP of a valid target in a short range, more effective with high Karma.

Remove Curse

One of the most important Chivalry Spells. Removes Curses and other Debuffs such as Clumsy, Weaken, Feeblemind, Paralyze (not on yourself),
Corpse Skin, Evil Omen, Mind Rot, Strangle, Blood Oath and the effects of a Mortal Strike.

Cleanse by Fire

This cures a target of Poison but will apply Fire Damage to the caster. The damage can be reduced if high Karma.

Consecrate Weapon

Has a chance of dealing all your Melee Damage against the weakest Resistance of your target. Raises the damage the higher your Chivalry is.
The higher your Chivalry the better will be your chance to hit. The higher your Karma, the longer the duration.

Sacred Journey

Works like the Magery Spell "Recall".

Divine Fury

When casting your receive a bonus on Damage Increase, Hit Chance Increase and Swing Speed Increase. You also regain Stamina instantly.
On the downside you receive a penalty on Defense Chance Increase by 20%.
High Karma makes the bonuses more effective!

Dispel Evil

Monsters will have a chance to flee from you, also you have a chance of dispelling summoned creatues. Additionally you apply damage to nearby
transformed Necromancers.

Enemy of One

After activation you will deal 50% more Damage against the next or current creature you attack (you can switch targets and recast anytime). Your target
will change its color to gold. While the Spell is active, other creatures that are not the same species will receive a damage bonus against you and deal double
damage on you.
Higher Karma will extend the duration, higher Chivalry can raise your damage bonus fro 50% up to 82%.
On Pandora this does only work in PvM.
The spell can be deactivated by recasting.

Holy Light

This deals energy damage to nearby surrounding targets that are not innocent (not blue). Works instantly and you can move.

Noble Sacrifice

This spell will, upon activation, attempt casting "Cure", "Greater Heal" and "Ressurection" on nearby Innocents (Blue Players). If these attempts
are successful, your HP, Mana and Stamina will drop to 1.
Does not work on Criminals (Red Players)m, regardless if parties, guilded or allied!

Training Chivalry

Chivalry raises quickly, just by using the Spells.

Here is what to cast depending on your Skill Level. At 115, try casting the same Spell you used to reach 115 or use Scrolls of Transcendence.

0 - 30: Buy Skill Points from an NPC Paladin
30 - 45: Hold a Weapon in your hand and cast Consecrate Weapon
45 - 60: Cast Divibne Fury
60 - 70: Cast Enemy of One
70 - 90: Cast Holy Light
90 - 115: Cast Noble Sacrifice

Make sure you have enough Gold and Tithing Points, unless training with a Newbie LTC Suit!
