PandoraLore / VoidPool

Introduction

The Void Pool is an automatic PvM Event on a schedule. The main objective is to stop the invading
monster hordes from destroying the Void Pool, a magical pool in the Dungeon Covetous.
The attacking creatures come in Waves and are commanded by Cora the Sorceress who does not spawn with
the Waves but on a different location inside the dungeon. She is not part of the event but a separate
entity.

By killing the Waves you collect Scores and Points. You can spend the points, similar to tokens, to obtain
certain Artifacts and other items such as Deeds.

It is possible to do the Void Pool all by yourself without the aid of fellow players, depending on your Gear
and Skill Level. Obviously being in a group can get you to higher Waves.
The event ends once the Void Pool has been destroyed by your enemies.

Location

The Void Pool is located in Dungeon Covetous Level 2, Felucca and Trammel. Enter the area, and you find
the Pool if you follow the western corridor into one of the larger caves. It is best to stay close to it,
preferably at one of the stalagmites close to the actual cave.

The Waves will march in and attack from the western and eastern corridor at once!

Note: Remember that the Felucca Void Pool is under the Fel Ruleset, players can attack you there!

Schedules

The Felucca Void Pool will start 60 minutes after the last Void Pool ended. The Trammel Void Pool will start 180 minutes
after the last Void Pool ended.

You can check the schedules by one-clicking your character, then click "The Void Pool": It tells you when the next Battle will start.

Note: Once the Timer in the gump is at 0, the Event will start any second. If no one is there and if you are too late, the timer
will reset to its original state of 60 minutes (Felucca) and 180 minutes (Trammel)!

The Void Pool Menu (Gump)

If you one-click your character, then click "The Void Pool" you open an Info Gump that gives you necessary informations
about the Void Pool Event. In Trammel you get the Info Gump for the Trammel Void Pool, in Felucca you get the Felucca Info Gump.
In Luna you also get the Felucca Info Gump.

Next Battle

You can check when the next Battle will start (see Schedules).

Current Battle Scoreboard

Shows you who is currently there, if the event is running. Also the current Scores of each participant. These
Scores are not identical to the Void Pool Reward Points!

Best Single Battle Scoreboard

Shows you the best single Score in a High Score List. These Scores are not identical to the Void Pool Reward Points!

Overall Total Scores

Shows you the overall Scores of everyone who did a Void Pool Event. These Scores are not identical to the Void Pool
Reward Points!

Best Wave

Shows you the current highest Wave defeated. This will change once this "High Score" has been exceeded.

The Scores

As mentioned all Scores and High Scores refer to more of cosmetic "points", much like High Scores in other games.
You can't get anything or buy anything with these - they are just for pride and simple competition.

You receive the Scores by killing the Monster Waves that are attacking the Void Pool.

The Void Pool Reward Points will be explained in a different section.

Void Pool Reward Points

You receive Void Pool Reward Points by defending the Void Pool against the incoming Waves of Monsters. The more
Waves you manage, the more Points you get. Based on the number of Waves you defeated and defended the Pool against
these Points will be higher.

Void Pool Reward Points do not decay, so you can collect and save them up! You only lose points by spending them on
Rewards, so called Void Pool Artifacts.

Felucca

You receive 20 points per defeated Wave.

Trammel

You receive 10 points per defeated Wave.

Checking your Void Pool Reward Points

Go to Cove (Trammel) via Moongate and visit the NPC Vela the Sorceress. Double-click her to check
how many Points you currently have.

Buying Void Pool Artifacts and Rewards

Go to Cove (Trammel) via Moongate and visit the NPC Vela the Sorceress. Double-click her to buy
Void Pool Artifacts and Rewards. The items are also on Display there!

Void Pool Artifacts and Rewards

These will be described in a later section of this Guide!

Mechanics

Starting the Void Pool

Check the schedule as described, go to Dungeon Covetous (Felucca or Trammel) Level 2. Once the timer
is at 0 the Void Pool Event will start automatically.

You will get a message that the Event started and also a message for each Wave, so you always know the
number of the current incoming Wave. You can also use the Void Pool Info Gump as described to check your
current Score and current Wave.

Positioning

If you are alone at the Void Pool place yourself in the small corridor that leads to the Pool. There is
for example a stalagmite on the left side or a small corner on the right side. You can just stand there and
fight the Waves.

If you are with more people you can stand "in each other" at the same positions. Or you can split up and
place your Characters in the eastern and western corridors from where the monsters are marching in.

Fighting the Waves

Repairs

While fighting the Waves your Weapons and Gear will lose Durability. Unless you have Self Repair on these prepare to
repair your Weapons and Gear.
There is am Anvil and Forge in the top right corner close to the Pool.

Hybrids and Pure Mage Characters

As a Hybrid Character (Dexxer-Caster, most regular Characters on Pandora) you use a Champ Weapon with the
Weapon Ability Whirlwind and Hit Area Effects (like in Spawns) to kill the incoming monsters.

As a Pure Mage you can use Wither and Wildfire, perhaps also Chain Lightning if you prefer. If needed you can
use the spell Protection but keep in mind that this will lower your Resisting Spells Skill!

Defensive Measures

No matter what character type you play, you might want to cast Bless, Attunement and Gift of Renewal. Also you should
use Vampiric Embrace to optimize your Life Leeching. Be prepared that inciming Waves also include Mages, so you will be
under the effect of Curse, other Debuffs and heavy Spellcasting.

Other Actions

You can also cast Spell Fields like Fire Field and Poison Field, perhaps also Energy Fields to block one corridor for
a short time.

It is also possible to use a Pet as a meat Shield - keep in mind that healing your Pet also means in this moment you are not
healing yourself, so this could be dangerous sometimes.

Death

If you die you can find a Corpse Stone in the top right corner close to the Pool.

No matter if you are solo or in a group, you have to hurry. Incoming Waves will now be able to get to the Pool in order
to destroy it!

The Void Pool Ends

The Void Pool Event ends once the Void Pool has been destroyed by the incoming Monster Waves. This can go very fast once
the Pool is unprotected.

After the Pool has been destroyed the Event will be over and the timer will reset (see Schedules).

You also get a message about your Score and how many Void Pool Reward Points you have collected during this Event. Your total
points can be checked at the NPC Vela the Sorceress in Cove (Trammel) as described.

Note: Do not leave the Void Pool Area before the Event really ended and you received the message about your Points! Or you
will receive NO POINTS for this specific Event that just ended.

The Monster Waves

General Infos

The incoming Monster Waves will enter the area and attack the Pool and its defenders one by one, so Wave 1 will enter and attack.
After Wave 1 is defeated Wave 2 will spawn shortly after and so on.

The Waves will become stronger and stronger. While the first Waves are relatively easy to handle, later Waves around 20 - 30 will
be harder. Beginning with Wave 45-50 it will be very hard and everything above can be extremely difficult.

Many Waves also include Mages, meaning Monsters that are able to cast spells, mostly damaging and debuffing spells. In the worst case
some of the Mages will also drain your Mana, so defending the Vood Pool can be harder.
You might consider using Heal Potions, Refresh Potions and Mana Potions!

The Monsters attacking the Void Pool have no Slayer Vulnerabilities!

The different Groups of Waves

There are different groups of Waves, each including specific monsters. Once the Void Pool Event starts you can see which Group you
will be fighting: All following Waves belong to the same Group!

While they are summarized as Repond, Reptile and so on they all spawn without a Slayer Vulnerability!

The specific Monsters of each Group will spawn in order as described and listed, the last Monsters in the lists being
the strongest.

Strength of the Groups

observations by players fighting the Waves considering the strength of specific Groups.

The amount of Mages is based on RNG, which means it is random!

The following list therefore is subjective and could be changed over time. The Group at the bottom of this list is currently
thought of being the strongest.

An Ethereal Skeletal Tiger
This is an Ethereal.

Unique Artifact Properties

Some of the Artifacts come with unique Properties. You don't have to use Hotkeys to activate
these properties. They trigger once you hit your target.

Note that some of these Properties can't trigger when using a Weapon Ability!

Properties

This will be a short description of these Properties. Check the UOGuide for more detailed infos!

Damage Eater

Damage Eater converts a percentage of damage dealt to a player back as health. Note that you first take
the full damage and then it gets converted.
Damage Eaters will either be triggered by specific elements such as "Kinetic", "Fire" or "Cold" or refer
to all kinds of inflicted damage. Only Eaters of the same element will stack. If it is unclear then the highest
percentage will be triggered!

Bane

The property Bane makes you deal more damage against a creature once its health is at 50% or lower. The extra
damage is physical and can be a dramatically high damage bonus - it gets higher the lower the health of your target is!
Bane only works versus creatures (PvM only) and NOT in PvP.
Also it works only on Melee Weapons - the Heavy Crossbow mentioned in the Artifact List is the only exception!
You can also apply Bane on Melee Weapons by yourself:
Kill the Peerless Boss Virtue Bane once it spawned, obtain an Essence of Bane. You need 5 of those to combine them to a
full Essence of Bane. Double-click it, target the Melee Weapon and click again. It takes no slot.
Virtue Bane is described in the Peerless Guide. There are four different locations he can spawn, this will vbe announced in
the game:
Fire Temple on Fire Island (Fel)
Dungeon Wind (Fel)
Terot Skitas (Sorcerer's Dungeon) in Ilshenar (Fel)
Bucaneer's Den (Fel)

Bone Breaker

A successful Hit against any target gives you a chance to drain Stamina for a few seconds and apply extra direct damage.

Splintering Weapon

A successful Hit against any target applies an effect similar to Bleed Attack. The target is under the effect of Forced Walking
for a few seconds (target can't move faster than walking speed). The Splintering Weapon effect stacks with the Weapon Ability Bleed Attack.
Note that each time the effect triggers the weapon loses a lot of Durability. Therefore Self Repair is needed!

Sparks

A successful Hit against any target applies energy damage over time. Each hit after the resist check adds mana to the attacker. The effect is
doubled against monsters.

Swarm

A successful Hit against any target applies a swarm of insects on the target that will cause physical damage over time. This effect will last
until the target receives fire damage or equips and lights a torch!

Assassin Honed

A successful hit against any target that faces the same direction as the attacker (both looking into the same direction) will apply
bonus damage on the target. The faster the weapon the higher the bonus damage. Swing Speed Increase has no effect in this damage calculation!
Works better on Melee Weapons than Range Weapons (Range only a 50% to trigger).

Blood Drinker

Blood Drinker gets triggered when using the Weapon Ability Bleed Attack and successfully hitting any target. All the damage caused by Bleed Attack
will then be directly transferred to the attacker's health!

Cora the Enchantress

Cora the Enchantress is the leader of the hordes that try to destroy the Void Pool for her. While she is not
spawning during the Void Pool Event (she is a separate enemy) you can actually kill her.

She spawns regularly in Dungeon Covetous Level 3 (Felucca and Trammel, more frequently in Felucca).

Be careful:
A New Player might get into troube because she may be too strong.

Cora will drain Mana and cast Spells on you. Also there are creatures spawning in the same area that will come to her aid!

Loot

Cora has a chance of dropping some rare Artifacts that will spawn in your backpack after she died:

Void Infused Kilt
Giant Steps
Animated Legs of the Insane Tinker
Wall of Hungry Mouths
Basilisk Hide Breast Plate

She has also a chance to drop regular Void Pool Artifacts in your backpack after she died:

Blight of the Tundra
Hephaestus
Bracelet of Protection
Prismatic Lenses
