PandoraLore / ImbuingMaterials

Introduction

Imbuing Materials are required to be able to imbue your items and gear. They can be obtained in several ways,
the most common being by killing and looting Monsters, some you obtain via Gathering, others you can craft.

This Guide will cover all Imbuing Materials and how to get them.

Imbuing

Imbuing is a Magical Skill to enhance your items and gear (weapons, armor and more) with specific properties.
Read everything about Imbuing, Unravelling and Transmutation here: ImbuingGuide

Collecting Imbuing Materials

There are the following ways to collect Imbuing Materials:

- Killing and looting regular Monsters, including Paragon
- Killing and looting Champions, Champion Spawns, Mini Champions (Renowned), Mini Champion Spawns,
Named Bosses and Peerless Bosses
- Crafting
- Gathering, especially Lumberjacking (via chopping trees) and Mining (for Granite)
- Unravelling (part of Imbuing)
- Transmutation (part of Imbuing)
- Treasure Chests

Crafting

Via Crafting Skills you can create items and also some materials. Some can be used for Imbuing.

Gathering

There are some Gathering or Harvesting Skills like Mining or Lumberjacking to obtain some items and materials. Some can be used for Imbuing.

Unravelling and Transmutation

These are "subskills" of Imbuing. Unravelling is the destruction of items or removal of some properties to gain Imbuing Materials.
Transmutation is the transformation of one material into another - in this case it is using some Imbuing Crystals to get another type or
transform some Imbuing Materials into Crystals. This will be explained later on. You find further infos about that also in the Imbuing Guide!

You can obtain all Imbuing Materials via Unravelling (check the Imbuing Guide). Note that if you unravel a whole item it will be destroyed. Unravelling
single properties will remove the property and give you a small percentage of the specific Imbuing Materials that would be used Imbuing this property!

Treasure Chests

Some Imbuing Materials like Relic Fragments and others you can also obtain via Treasure Chests.

Imbuing Materials

There are several Imbuing Materials needed for all the properties you want to add on your items and gear via Imbuing. The Imbuing Menu and the
Imbuing Calculator can show you which materials are needed for a specific property. You find the Imbuing Calculator and a guide to the Imbuing Menu
in the Imbuing Guide.

This following section will list all the Imbuing Materials and where and how to obtain them. They are divided into specific categories, much like it is
when you use your Resource Box to add or take out materials.

Crystals of the Elements (Imbuing Crystals)

You can obtain these by killing specific monsters or via Transmutation. Since when doing Transmutation you use a lot of other Materials and Crystals, the better
option is to collect the Crystals by killing monsters. If you decide to do Transmutation, then use Earth Crystals. They are the most common!

Killing Monsters

Every monster on Pandora can drop Crystals.

Amount

The amount of Crystals a Monster can drop depends on two factors:
More Crystals will drop in Felucca and Felucca Ruleset Areas. Also the Hitpoints of a Monster will raise the amount of Crystals:
This means a Paragon will drop more than a normal Monster, and a Champion or Boss will drop even more.
Example: A Poseidon for example can drop up to 20 or more Crystals!

Type

The type Crystals you will get depends on the damagetype of the Monster. This means based on the elemental or physical damage a monster does,
you can receive the respective type of Crystal. This does not refer to Resists, only to the kind of damage the Monster deals to its enemies.
You can check the type of damage a Monster does with the Skill Animal Lore.
Example: A Lich deals Energy Damage, therefore he has a good chance of dropping Energy Crystals. A Monster dealing Cold Damage would have a chance of
dropping Water Crystals and so forth.

Crystals

This list will just show you what has been explained before: The type of Crystal depending on the kind (type) of damage the Monster deals.
Note that the examples will include Elementals. This does NOT mean only Elementals would drop these Crystals. Any Monster can drop Crystals, depending
on its damagetypes. They don't have to be Bosses or Champions, it can be any creature!

Crystal of Earth: Monsters with Physical Damage, for example Earth Elementals
Crystal of Water: Monsters with Cold Damage, for example Water Elementals
Crystal of Fire: Monsters with Fire Damage, for example Slasher of Veils
Crystal of Poison: Monsters with Poison Damage, for example Spiders or Poison Elementals
Crystal of Energy: Monsters with Energy Damage, for example Liches

Transmutation

You can also obtain specific Crystals via Transmutation. You need an Inverter from an Alchemist NPC and stand close to a heat source in order to use
Transmutation. You can either transmutate Relic Fragments and Magical Residue into any type of Crystal or transmutate Crystals into
another type of Crystals.
Since Earth Crystals are the most common ones, your best choice is to use these.
Find out more about Transmutation in the Imbuing Guide!
