Introduction

This Quest Guide will cover all important quests available on Pandora. This is a work in progress. Whoever wants to contribute and write a Guide
please contact and DM Tys on Discord!

There are two Quest Systems. You can access one by clicking QUESTS on your Paperdoll, the other by oneclicking your character.
Sometimes this can be confusing if the system tells you that you have too many quests - so check from time to time!

Solen Hive Quest Guide (by Catt, edited by Tys)

Locations

The Red Solen Hive is located in Trammel. The Black Solen Hive is locted in Felucca.
They each have four primary entrances:

75-41 North 90-37 East
Directly SW of the Minoc Moongate, this is by far the easiest to locate. The North Eastern entrance.

71-1 North 27-54 East
North of Compassion, between the two mountain ranges.

102-7 South 25-56 East
Near Trinsic. The South Western entrance.

14-57 North 41-58 West
Near the entrance to Sanctuary. The North Western entrance.

Each path houses a nest of the Solen filled with egg sacs. A fifth, secret nest, may be accessed by using Green Thorns on sand tiles.

Creatures in the Solen Hive

Solen Queen
Drop Balls of Pet Summoning and Bracelets of Binding on occasion and Zoogie Fungus.
(Pet Balls of Summoning and Bracelets of Binding can be recharged with powder of translocation, the items do not have a limited charge amount)

Solen Ants
Drop Zoogie Fungus, gems, some gold, and on occassion, picnic baskets.

Giant Beetles and Ant Lions
Giant Beetles are tamable, Ant Lions sometimes drop Bone Boxes.

Dread Spiders
In the SW area, a Strange Contraption can be found near by.

A special level of the hive can only be accessed by "planting" a Green Thorn in a desert area. The special hive level is the source of rare fire red seeds. In this hive you will find many Ant Lions.

Solen Matriarch Quest (Solen Hive Quest 1)

Items you need to prepare and have with you:

Seed
8 Full Pitchers of Water
200 Zoogie Fungus

The Matriarch Queen

You must enter the hive and travel to the center of the Hive itself, there you will find the Matriarch Queen.
To get her to speak to you, first drop a plant seed of any type or color ont the queen, she will then give you the quest.

The Quest

She first requires you to kill 7 enemy Solen Infiltrators (Warriors) and/or Solen Infiltrators (Queens). If you started in the red hive you must kill black Solen on the same Facet, and vice versa. The red Solen hive is in Trammel, while black Solen reside in Felucca. Infiltrators can be found outside the hives just outside the entrance to the city of wind.

Next she will request that you refresh the Solen water supply. It is recommended that you collect 8 pitchers of water before you head back after killing the requisite Infiltrators.

Once you've emptied the pitchers into the vats located at the south-end of the Solen Hive center chamber (this is easier if you click the pitcher and target the inside wall of the water vat), head back to the Matriarch. She will ask for 200 Zoogi Fungus (which you'll hopefully have collected during your previous hunt).

Rewards

Upon completing the quest you will recieve, between 250-350 Gold and 100 Powder of Translocation that will spawn in your backpack.

You will also no longer be attacked by members of the hive, at least until you start attacking them or befriend the hive of the other Facet.

The Ambitious Solen Queen Quest (Solen Hive Quest 2)

Items you need to prepare and have with you:

50 Zoogi Fungus

The Ambitious Solen Queen

The Ambitious Solen Queen is a Solen Queen that grants a quest. She can be found by entering the hole to the right of the water vats in the Solen Matriarch's chamber.

When you accept the quest from her, she will ask you to slay 5 other Solen Queens.

The Quest

The Queens ae found in various nests in the hive. Often times, a Ball of Pet Summoning will spawn on a Solen Queen's corpse.

When you have slain the 5 queens return and speak to her again. She will then request that you give her 50 Zoogi Fungus (obtain them, have them with you).

Rewards

She will reward you with a bag of sending(with this you can send items to your bank, that are not in a container) and a small amount of Powder of Tarnslocation.

This bag may be recharged 3 times only, then is no longer usable, it holds max 30 charges, it can be recharged with up to 30 Powder of translocation by clicking the powder and targeting the bag.

The Ambitious Solen Queen Quest exists on both Trammel and Felucca facets.

The Naturalist Quest (Solen Hive Quest 3)

This Quest is also necessary if you pursue Gardening (Plants) and want specific seeds. See here: PlantGuide

Introduction

Requires you to study ant colonies for the local town Naturalist. In return for your detailed note taking, you will be rewarded with rare colored seeds that can be grown into fantastic pink, aqua, magenta, or fire colored rare plants by gardening.

If you wish to repeat this quest for multiple seeds, you might consider first befriending the colony on your facet. This is done via the Solen Matriarch Quest. You will not be attacked this way, as you study the nests.

Beginning the Quest and Mechanics

Speak to any Naturalist NPC to begin the quest (Talbot is one example, though others can be found in various libraries). Talbot can be found at the Britain Public Library. Make note of which Naturalist you visit, as you will need to return to the same one to report your findings.

The Naturalist will offer you an opportunity to complete a study of the Solen Hive. To complete the quest, you will need to visit each of four egg nests within (in any order). The storyline has you scribbling notes on your parchment, but in reality, you just need to stand quietly near the nests for about 30 seconds while the fiction plays out.

Examining the Nests

It is easiest to enter via the Minoc entrance. The monsters within are not overly fast and can easily be out distanced by those who cannot fight them. Once in the hive the path is fairly linear; simply follow passage until you find the first Egg Nest (easily recognised by it's distinctive egg pods).

When you reach the first nest, you will hear yourself exclaim "A-ha!" out loud. Stand still for half a minute or so. During this time you'll hear scribbling on parchment and see these messages on your screen:

"You begin studying the Solen Egg Nest to gather information."
"You begin recording your completed notes on a bit of parchment."
"You have completed your studies of this Solen Egg Nest. You put your notes away."

If you move around or fight monsters while studying, your concentration will be disrupted and you may have to start over again. The use of Hiding or Invisibility can avoid this.

Once completed, continue to follow the passage deeper into the hive until you finally reach the center (where the Solen Matriarch is located). From here you have access to the three other tunnel branches, each of which contains a fresh nest for you to examine. Once you have visited all four you're ready to leave the hive.

Either return to the Naturalist you started with to recieve, a Pink, Aqua, or Magenta Rare Seed, or continue on to the secret nest. Only the Secret Nest gives a rare fire plant seed.

The Secret Nest

In order to find the fifth nest, you need to obtain a Green Thorn. Your local gardener may already have a supply of these, though you can always grow your own Bright Green Barrel Cacti / Bright Green Snake Plants if you have the patience.

Take the thorn to any sandy area (such as a beach or desert), double click it then target the ground. You will see a message that you've pushed the thorn into the sand, which will collapse shortly afterwards revealing a mysterious hole (you can also take it to towns in the desert, where no monsters spawn, but you must be quick once the hole appears, it will only stay open a short amount of time).

Jump into the hole by double-clicking on it and you'll be transported to the mysterious secret ant tunnel. Note that the hole doesnt open imediately, it will appear after a a few short bursts of smoke, so wait for it to appear.

Run left to the secret ant nest and study it as you did the others:

You notice something very odd about this Solen Egg Nest. You begin taking notes.

You complete your examination of this bizarre Egg Nest. The Naturalist will undoubtedly be quite interested in these notes!

Upon completion of your note taking, you'll be excited to bring your findings back to the Naturalist.

Return to the Naturalist that you got the quest from, to collect your reward. Talk to him or her and you will receive your prize. If you did the secret nest, you will recieve a rare Fire Seed. If you did not, you will recieve a random colored seed, of Pink, Aqua, or Magenta rare plant.

These plants can then be grown like any other seed planted, only they will not produce seeds or rescources, yet still take the full 9 days to grow, and must be tended daily, like any other planted seed.

Escort Quests (by Catt, edited by Tys)

Introduction

This is a type of Quest in which a player escorts an NPC to it's requested destination. Completing an escort quest rewards the player with 500 gold, a small amount of Fame and gains towards the Virtue of Compassion. You can only have one active escort quest at a time. Some of the NPC for this quest can be found on docks around Britain.

Click on the NPC, it will give yu the options to ask destination, and esscort, by clicking ask destination, it will tell you where the NPC wishes to go, clicking the esscort, begins the quest.

Upon accepting an escort quest the NPC will begin to follow you. Using a gate, moongate or even having the NPC follow you entirely on foot is acceptable, but they will not board a ship on foot. There is a time limit of roughly 10-15 minutes to complete the quest or the NPC will disappear, so keep this in mind if you escorting on foot and are headed for a destination that is far from a moongate.

With the exception of Ocllo, you can complete the quest if you deliver the NPC to their destination regardless of whether the quest originated in Trammel or Felucca.

Delivering an NPC to a town will not always complete upon entering guardzone. Some towns have boundaries much further into town that must be crossed before the NPC will recognize you have successfully brought them to their destination. This is especially apparent with Yew and Minoc.

If an NPC should give up and disappear on it's own(which happens randomly, although rarely), it is important to open the quest menu on your paperdoll, select the quest and resign it as it will not remove itself automatically. Additionally, if you should leave the near presence of an NPC, such as recalling away, it will cry out it's escort has abandoned them and end the quest. This can surreptitiously happen sometimes when crossing a server line while on foot but is typically rare.

While escorting an NPC, they will not do anything to help defend or protect you. If you render yourself invisible, such as through the Hiding skill or the Invisibility spell, they will stand by your side, perhaps giving away your location in dangerous situations.

On the other hand, attacking an NPC can have dire consequences. It will summon three NPC mercenaries to defend it and is not an easy fight. Should you kill the NPC, you will lose Karma!

Town Escorts

In a town escort quest, the NPC will be found in a town and will request a specific destination town. After successfully completing the quest, you must wait five minutes before accepting another town or dungeon escort quest.

Rescue Escorts

Typically found in randomly-spawning Brigand camps, the NPC will beg to be rescued. It is not required you defeat their captors to accept the quest. Completing a rescue escort yields more gains towards the Virtue of Compassion.

NPC's in need of rescue may also be found in some dungeons being held captive by orcs or lizardmen. Sometimes the NPC will request to be taken to any town instead of a specific destination.

Rescue quest NPC's will always have a title of "Nobleman" or "Noblewoman" following their name. There is no waiting period between finishing a rescue escort and accepting another one.

Dungeon Escorts

While called dungeon escorts, the NPC's are found in towns but are requesting to be taken to a specific dungeon. These NPC's will have a title of "Seeker of Adventure"" following their name. Once delivered into the dungeon, the quest will be completed, your rewards will be given and the NPC will otherwise ignore you.

Completing town escort quests are an excellent way for newer players to make money. They are almost completely safe as most of the quests can be completed via moongate, only take a few minutes and the 500 gold reward is a good source money.

Final Notes

Skara Brae, Moonglow and Jhelom are excellent towns to do town escort quests from as they are all very close to a moongate.

One miscellaneous quirk with escort quest NPC's is that after the escort quest has been completed they will remain visible for a time but will not display a paperdoll if double-clicked. Wait five minutes before accepting another dungeon or town escort quest.

Note: Ilshenar is under the Felucca Ruleset, which means you can be killed by players there.

you might try to pull them out of clusters of enemies or you get get overwhelmed if you are a New Player.

Killing 5 Exodus Overseer and 2 Exodus Minion

Note:
The more Minions you kill the more Overseers spawn and vice versa.

Overseer:
The Exodus Overseers are a bit weaker than the Minions. For newer players though they can be challenging.
They cast Energy Bolts on you and have high physical resists - a weapon with Armor Ignore certainly helps damaging them.
They are also vulnerable to Bleed Attack.

Minions:
The Exodus Minions are stronger than the Overseers as their physical resists are very high.
Use a weapon with Armor Ignore to get through their resistance. Also they are immune to Level 5 Poison and lower.

Once you have killed a Minion or Overseer you will hear a sound - also when the task is completed. But it helps counting your kills.

Return to Heartwood to talk to Aeluva once you have completed this task.

Rewards

Go to Heartwood and talk to Aeluva.

You have completed the Quest Chain and will be rewarded with:
1 Arcane Circle Scroll
1 Gift of Renewal Scroll

There are two Spells (Scrolls) you can get by doing two other Quests (see below).
The other Spellweaving Scrolls can be obtained from monsters, for example in the Prism of Light.

Important Note:

Sometimes this Quest Chain glitches at some point during your quests. This means it starts over, which means you have to begin the Quest Chain again.

things in any order you like.

At the Pond he will thank you for your help and this part of the quest is finished!

After recalling to the location go South, along the mountains until you reach the beach.

Some monsters spawn there. You will find Enigma walking around in the area.

Talking to Enigma: The Riddle of the Sphinx

If you talk to Enigma he will give you this riddle:

Three lives have I,
Gentle enough to soothe the skin,
Light enough to caress the sky,
Hard enough to crack rocks
What Am I?

The answer is: Water.

Mark the Pitcher of Water as a Quest Item and talk to Enigma again.

This part of the quest is now finished!

Huntsman the Centaur

Finding Huntsman

Go to the Lucky Lady and use the HEQ.

You find Huntsman north of the Shrine (90.15N, 24.36E).

The Task

After talking to him he will task you to kill 15 Timber Wolves.

Make sure Huntsman is close when you kill the wolves. If he walks off-screen you don't get credit for slain creatures.

After completing the task this part of the quest is finished!

Maul the Bear

Finding Maul

Go to the Lucky Lady and use the HEQ.

You find Maul southwest of Dungeon Wrong and south of the Ice Dungeon (120.29N, 28.45E).

The Bear is hungry...

Talking to him tells you that Maul is hungry:

Mark the Fish Steaks as quest items and talk to him again.

This part of the quest is now also finished!

Strongroot the Treefellow

Finding Strongroot

Go to the Lucky Lady and use the HEQ.

You find him southeast of Dungeon Shame, near the Blighted Grove (9.55S, 51.28W).

Sap of Sosaria

If you talk to him he tells you he wants Sap of Sosaria.

Go to Yew near the Graveyard. North of it you have to find the green potion bottles spawning
on the ground (54.3N, 40.13 W).

If you cannot find it, use Ctrl+Alt+Shift and also check the same spot on the Felucca Map!

Go back to Strongroot, mark the bottle as a quest item and talk to him. This part is now finished!

Completing the Elven Heritage Quest

Going back to Darius the Wise

Go back to the Moonglow Lycaeum to find Darius the Wise.

Do not talk to him yet!

Time to strip...

Before talking to Darius:

Go naked!

This means:
Remove all your gear, clothing, weapons, jewels until you are fully nude. Also dismount and put everything in your backpack!

Now you can talk to him.

The Transformation

Darius will offer you the chance to become an Elf - accept if you want to (this was the reason for the quest afterall...).

You will immediately transform into an Elven Character, which means you have to choose hair color, hair style and skin tone.

You will also benefit from all advantages an Elf has.

Congratulations!

Final Note

Why do this Quest?

On Pandora there is no skill cap and also your stats are unlimited - the only limits being your bonus via equipments / gear / imbuing.

This means that the bonus stuff Humans receive plays no role or just a minor role.
Elves though have some bonus stats that will help you.

Elven Abilities

Natural Night Sight
Energy Resist Cap +5 (Max is 75% instead of 70%)
Bonus harvesting colored ore and wood
More difficult to track via Tracking Skill
Bonus on Perception to passively detect hidden monsters and players
Mana Increase +20
